Minority supports lockdown of the country in response to COVID-19
By Christopher Arko, GNA Accra, March 26, GNA - The Minority in Parliament has added its voice to calls by some organizations and individuals for the country to go into an immediate lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Mr Agalga referred to suggestion from Mr Cassiel Ato Forson, Minority Ranking Member on Finance, to the Government of Ghana to tap into the resources that have accrued from the Eurobond the country issued to deal with the coronavirus crisis.
AUC swears-in Secretary-General of AfCFTA

Business returns to normal after disinfection exercise

CAF fines GFA $10,000
Accra, March 25, GNA - The Confederation of African Football has fined Ghana Ten Thousand Dollars for the invasion of the field of play by a football fan, during an Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier between the Black Stars and South Africa. A football fan during the latter stages of the Black Stars' win over South Africa in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers at the Cape Coast Stadium on November 14, 2019 ran onto the pitch and halted play for some few minutes.
President Akufo-Addo has humbled UNIPASS Detractors-Chamber of Freight forwarders
Accra, March 25, GNA - President of the Chamber of Freight and Trade, Dennis Amfo-Sefah, is calling President Akufo-Addo's encouragement, to Ghana Link Network Services Limited, which is deploying the UNIPASS software for the Administration of the country's Ports, as a humbling punch for critics of the new system. Mr. Amfo-Sefah, who has long said that Freight Forwarders were agreeable to the new system thanked the President for encouraging the deployment of the new system and called on Ghana Link to rump up efforts to deploy the new system.

Parliament offers prayers for the nation

Ministry to engage Government for stimulus support for tourism industry.

The stakeholders has developed a proposal to the Ministry on the effects of the disease on their operations and the Ministry promised to engage the leadership of the Federation to President Akufo-Addo for assistance.
Carlos Ahenkorah salutes NPP Delegates for discerning questions
Mr Carlos Ahenkorah, who is running for re-election for the party's Parliamentary ticket for Tema West, revealed that during a recent meeting with delegates, they asked probing and relevant questions that really impressed him. "During the meeting, the delegates ticked one by one, his developmental projects in the Constituency, including roads, school and hospital rehabilitations as well as logistical provisions to various institutions."The probing delegates also testified that in deed he was a well experienced man with an already successful background as a businessman before he became MP. Among others, the delegates concurred that he is a former Shipping Manager at the Ghana Agro Foods Company, CEO of CarloKing Services Company, a Board Member of a Rural Bank and a former Lecturer at the Ghana Maritime University.
BoG urges stakeholders in financial sector to intensify education on electronic payments

EC must suspend New Voters Register Compilation

"I humbly urge the President to order the EC to cancel or suspend the compilation of the New Voters Register which will involve mass activity; on Humanitarian Health grounds at least; to protect life and limb of every Ghanaian citizen who may be infected by the virus and result in loss of lives," he said.

Prosecution said at a meeting held with the accused on October 7, 2017 at the Jude Palace Hotel in Dubai, Tiger Eye held its self as H.H Sheikh Hammad Al Thani, his secretary that Dr. Marzuk A. Albadawir and other staff of the Sheikh as jointly representing Medgulf while Nyantakyi presented himself as a powerful person and a potential public officer who could influence the President, Vice President, Minister for Roads and Highways and Transport of Ghana to promote the business interest of Medgulf in Ghana. The Prosecution said the signature of Nyantakyi was witnessed by Alhassan and was further agreed between Tiger eye and two accused that all monies paid by Medgulf into Ghana would be channeled through Fountain Savings and Loans Limited, a firm in which Nyantakyi held majority Shares.
Panam Sports supports IOC decision to postpone Tokyo Olympics
