Kasoa ritual killing: Samuel Attah-Mensah calls for stiffer regulation of media space
The Chief Executive Officer of Citi FM/Citi TV, Samuel Attah-Mensah, has called for stiffer regulation of the media space, following the suspected ritual killing of an 11-year-old boy by two juveniles. Reports have suggested that the two teenage suspects may have been influenced to take such action due to the content they watched on TV. Mr. Attah-Mensah on The Point of View on Citi TV said tighter regulation of the media space will end the dissemination of toxic content by the media. Speaking on the same programme, the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah insisted that there are existing laws that can help regulators in Ghana's media space to deal with the issue of spiritualists, money doublers and fraudsters who advertise their activities on television.
