Accra: Gym instructor shot dead for allegedly dating married woman
A 34-year-old gym instructor popularly known as 'Little' has been shot dead in his room at Tantra Hill in Accra Thursday dawn. Associates of the deceased say he had been warned over the constant visits by the married woman who sometimes sleeps over his place. Police in Accra have commenced investigation into the murder.
W/R: One killed as Tumanto, Dominase farmers clash
At least one person has been confirmed dead with two critically injured and 106 arrested by the Western regional police command following a scuffle between some disgruntled farmers of Tumanto and Dominase, all in the Mpohor District. The incident, according to reports, was fuelled by a land dispute, where it is believed a private developer had allegedly destroyed cocoa farms at the Tumanto village to make way for the planting of rubber. Some other farmers in solidarity with their colleagues mobilised and protested against the private developer.

Special Prosecutor-nominee Kissi Agyabeng says he cannot stop corruption but will make it a costly venture. He told the appointments committee at his ongoing vetting that not even God can stop corruption. Kissi Agyabeng, a criminal law lecturer, and a practitioner will replace Martin Amidu as the second Special Prosecutor Ghana has had. Mr Amidu resigned from office last year accusing President Akufo-Addo of interference following his work on the controversial Agyapa Royalties deal.
I was set up by someone I sacked for corruption
Former Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Small Scale Mining Charles Onuawonto Bissue says he was set up by a team member he had sacked from for corruption. According to him, one Francis Owusu Acheampong who was introduced to him by former Science and Environment Minister Professor Frimpong Boateng set him up because he had refused to accede to his constant request to engage in illegal mining. The Police CID which investigated allegations of corruption against Mr. Bissue in July 2019 cleared him of any wrongdoing.

Security analyst Festus Auben says the so-called 'protocol' recruitment in the armed forces and other security agencies is a reality. The phenomenon, popularly known as 'protocol list' has been a stumbling block for many who wish to join the various security agencies, with reports of bribery and corruption over the years. Mr Auben's comment comes after president Akufo-Addo gave the go-ahead for the recruitment of over eleven thousand persons into the various security agencies, among others.

A former head of the Formed Police Unit of the Police Service Hamza Yakubu says the newly appointed IGP COP Dr George Akuffo Dampare is expected to bring magic to the service. In 2013, under the leadership of the then Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, Dr. Dampare led a team of officers, working day and night, to restructure the Armoured Car Squadron Unit into the Formed Police Unit within a record time of ten weeks. Not a single block has yet been laid to commence the construction of the promised 600-bed Eastern regional Hospital exactly a year after sod-cutting by President Akufo-Addo. President Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday, 22nd July 2020, cut the sod for the commencement of construction of Phase One of the new 600-bed Eastern Regional Hospital project. The current 429-bed capacity Eastern Regional hospital has been in existence for about 100 years now and is the referral hospital in the Region that serves parts of the Volta and Ashanti Regions, with daily OPD attendance of about 700.
